Some interesting shots there. Are you the Ted-Nugent-looking one in the first pic?

Very interesting pics NBN. Looks like y'all had a good time.

I liked the dog pic best although they're all good.

Did the dog drink beer too (or is he stoned)? He looks a bit buzzed.

A bass guitar is still a guitar.

While that's very funny from a Freudian joke point of view ...

No, it's not, it's a bass.

It's not a guitar with fewer strings.

It's a bass that's not upright.

I should have noted while I still had the user title but as your resident bassist, I'll weigh in and say that IMO a bass is not a guitar.

I play a little guitar but I'm no guitarist. If I play the bass guitar I am in no sense a guitarist. But I am fundamentally in my soul a bassist.

As I said, it's a 5-string.

Most bass guitars I've seen have 4.

Most regulations have 6.

Since this is a totally custom built job, I figure it a hybrid, didn't look too close.

You figure it out.

Most five string basses have a BEADG string setup (lowest to highest note). Real thunderous with that low B on board. Standard bass guitars are four strings (EADG, from lowest to highest), and are still pretty common for thumb fingered players like me. I'm not real sure what the setup is for six string basses.

Coolest bass I ever saw was an eight string played by John Entwistle. It is the same concept as a 12 string guitar, with the standard four bass strings each having a second string paired with it tuned an octave higher.
