I love Bill Murray
Because he does and says things like this:
[i]Lost In Translation star Bill Murray has received a lifetime achievement award at Florida's Jacksonville Film Festival. Murray, 53, picked up his award on Saturday night, and immediately kissed his statuette - a glass-and-wood turtle. He told the audience at the Florida Theater, "It smells like the ocean. It's the only award I have that does." |

I've always been a fan since old SNL and some of his earlier works. Plus, he's just funny.

Sorry but Lost in Translation was since Groundhog Day his first good movie. There are a few which aren't too bad. But he played in lots of crappy films (Ghostbusters 2, The man who knew too little, Spacejam or Larger than life)...

Ever see Razor's Edge? There's a good one from early in his career.

Please, let's not forget Caddyshack. He can be forgiven all his latter day sins for that one role.

Even the crappy films were not his fault.

Ah, Rushmore... now, don't get me wrong, Bill Murray's character was fabulous, but (due solely to the main character) I HATED that movie, in the same way I hated Catcher in the Rye.

The first movie I ever saw him in was Stripes. My favorite line is "Blooooown UP, SIR!"

Just saw Lost In Translation last weekend, nice fick. It was interesting how after sleeping with the bad jazz singer, it was more like he'd cheated on the girl than his wife.

that movie is so beautifully subtle. Was it cheating guilt or the bigger bat of disappointing human loneliness? I think he was upset that he disappointed the girl, he wasnt the man she made him want to be, and now she knew it too. And it challenged and mapped out the lines of their relationship for sure. I think it drew them closer.
