Thousands of $$s left at airports

Just saw this story on MSNBC.

Patience isn’t the only thing travelers are leaving at airport security screening checkpoints; they’re also leaving behind hundreds of thousands of dollars. And they’re doing it a nickel and dime at a time. That money is collected, accounted for and sent to U.S. Treasury’s General Fund.

In fact passengers left behind a total of $321,329.48, down to the penny, during a one-year period going back to October of last year, according to Amy von Walter, a TSA spokeswoman. Airports have collected $244,024.50 since January 1st of this year alone, von Walter said.
