Surreal

Found out a good friend of mine died inexplicably, last night.
The autopsy is soon, there's no explanation for why he died.

Just now, I get a call from my mom, who's on the 401 highway (Toronto) and stopped in traffic. I find a nearby traffic camera, and see the blockage, all the lanes are closed.

And I can see a body on the highway.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to leave my house at this point.

You never know. One blip and everything changes. The only things that are certain are the pain and dying. So pay attention and appreciate the other stuff when its great, good, or even not so bad.

Give mom a big hug.

sorry to hear that.. it's always odd when we are reminded of just how fragile life actually is.

Just talked to a friend over the weekend. He was telling the story of how his best friend died in a car accident. He was bringing back a car his father had bought and was hit head on by a drunk driver (who was not hurt ). He died about two hours later. The reason he was bringing back the car you ask? His father had died a month before. Can't imagine how his mom feels. Both husband and son within a months time.

You never know when your time is up....scary but true.

It can happen quicker then you think.

I've had two friends and a step mother go from (apparent) perfect health to dead in 1 - 2 months from bone cancer, breast cancer and a brain tumor.

That's why I always make time to kiss my partner before I go to work and pet the kitties every day when I get home.
