The minimum bid increment is $100. It's going to take forever to get to the $350,000 that the guy is looking for. At least he can sell it elsewhere if the reserve isn't met.
It definitely is an impressive looking specimen though. I just have nothing to do with it. ![]() |

paul said that he saw that on some site that said "who would buy that?"
i think that's pretty cool. not something i'd buy for my living room, definitely, but if i were a marine biologist or something, it would probably appeal to me. |

you'd ship/truck it in a standard 40foot container but it'd still be pretty dman expensive

The description of this exhibit on ebay says that the display was designed to be disassembled for relocation.

well. i know what we could do with all the extra space we will be acquiring in the basement.
*cough* or not. this is one of those things that you have to market towards a very specific audience. a very specific wealthy audience. good luck to the guy though. woner what he will do with all the extra room when he gets rid of that thing. and i wonder how he got it to begin with. its christmas morning and grandma and grandpa come over with a big box, and hes cursed with the damn thing for the next thirty years? heh. (maybe i should actually go and read the info at ebay, eh?)

The Marine Biologist
George: The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soap at a deli! I got about fifty-feet out and then suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell ya he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence he gave out a big bellow. I said, "Easy big fella!" And then as I watched him struggling I realized something was obstructing his breathing. From where I was standing I could see directly into the eye of the great fish!
Jerry: Mammal. George: Whatever. |
