Channel 4 (UK) starts broadcasting a show in December where members of the public believe that they are being trained by the military in Russia and have a chance to be selected for a trip to Near Space. In fact they are being trained at a disused airfield in the UK and the space flight is a simulation.
Watercooler conversation here is that they must have picked some really stupid people. I thought there must be more to it & searched until I found
this article in the Independent newspaper.
Personally I think I would be fooled - as much by the "why would they go to all this trouble for a hoax?" aspect as by my own suggestibility. I'm looking forward to watching it anyway.
