Greetings from Las Vegas
Greetings from Las Vegas. About 1/2 my stay is over and here are some of the highlights.
I only gambled 3 times for about 1/2 hour to an hour each time. After winning $100 at blackjack, I am about even give or take $10. I placed my first ever Vegas sports bet. I bet $11 on Sunday's Eagles game. I bet on the Eagles to win and had to give up 5 points and won $10 for a total of $21. Hung around the big outdoor pool one day. I took Jeffrey to his first ever show with topless showgirls and bought him a souvenier t-shirt for his 22nd birthday. Jeff was very well behaved. After the show two of the showgirls and 4 of the male dancers were out front selling T-shirts and instant photos taken with guests. The woman dancer selling the T-shirts was very nice and asked Jeff a few questions. Jeff declined the photo opportunity. He says he really enjoyed the show. Saw the Second City show which was ok but not great. Hit a few buffets. Since the timeshare has a full kitchen, we picked up a few groceries and on days when we get out late I'm eating grapefruit and toasted bagels and cream cheese, which can be very restful the day after a large dinner. My wife got to hit the poker room for a few hours while Jeff and I were out. She plays at the cheap tables and doesn't win or lose much. I almost bought hot dogs to cook on the propane grills out by the pool. I'm sort of glad that I didn't go to the trouble since I'm here to relax, but I really want to take advantage of all of the things I can do at the timeshare that I can't do at a hotel. This is our first vacation at the timeshare we bought last year. They hit us up with a sales presentation on Sunday to get us to buy more that what we have, but I am very happy with what we have which is one week in a one bedroom 2 room suite. I didn't see any reason to spend $10,000 to buy a nicer one bedroom suite to get about %30 more points which we don't need. They gave us 3 buffet coupons for sitting in on the presentation, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. We still haven't made it out to see the fountain shows, pirate shows, etc. The acts that we thought would be in town aren't, even though some websites had them scheduled. All, in all it's been a pretty relaxing vacation. We have done a lot of walking, partly because we bought monorail passes for the first 3 days and are walking between stations. Our timeshare is very close to the monorail, but we have to walk an extra 300 feet to the timeshare since the monorail only connects to casinos and the convention center. For the rest of the vacation, we will be using bus passes. This is a great town to relax in. I hope Tony and Jackie will have as much fun as we are having.

If you'd bet a bundle on the Eagles you could have paid for your whole trip, oh ye of little faith.
![]() Glad you're enjoying it.
