North American Union
I just came across the fact that the United States, Canada, and Mexico are working together to create something that might lead to an North American Union, roughly based off the European Union. The only debate right now is over a superhighway connecting Canada to Mexico but this could lead to other things.
While I am all in favor of the unification of the three nations into a superstate in theory, I don't know how it will play out too in real life. We can give the Mexican economy a big boost and strengthen our currency with changing it to the Amero we will also have to make a new constitution. This would make it possible for cheap Mexican labor to flood to the United States, seprating the rich poor gap even more. While I think this idea could be very good, it could also hurt us tremendously. What does everyone else think about this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union http://www.eagleforum.org/topics/NAU/ http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 http://www.thenewamerican.com/artman...cle_4213.shtml http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=52230 |
