Happy Family Day

My friend from the frosty maple called to wish me a happy holiday. The stark contrast in our value systems took me back a little.

As Canadians are valuing family today here in the US we are having Presidents day. I have no idea what that is good for so I am in my heart participating in Family Day.
The holiday feels so warm and cozy thinking of this day off as Family day instead.

Family Day is an Alberta only holiday. None of the other provinces or territories have this civic holiday. (One of the only things I miss about moving to BC) Either way.. Happy Family Day to all!!!

Sounds like a Chinese holiday.... no not for the culinary namesake, because of the emphasis the Chinese place on family, living and dead.
