I need to quit

Poker. Definitely. I've lost every time I've played during my spring break and I haven't won since January.

I always think like "yeah but I'll win this time" then I go about messing it up and losing more and more money. I seriously got to quit.

1) Don't play if you're not in the right mindset. Chasing lost money is, for most people, a wrong mindset to play.

2) Don't play above your bankroll.

Definitely, if you feel like you should quit, then you probably should.

I work with a bunch of gamblers...mostly they bet on sports. If they're doing well, they'll try to get out of work. If they're not doing so well, they'll pick up extra shifts.

Gambling is a bad habit so I agree.

Hmm... haven't won since January... wanna play a couple of hands with me?

Maybe if you really enjoy the game but can't afford to lose more money you should just play for chips or something -- my brother and I sometimes play for candy.

I do enjoy the game I just suck. And it's costing me, financially and emotionally .
Sometimes you just have to let someone you love go, because, it's not right for you or for her. So I've said my goodbyes to her, Poker. I'll miss you girl.

Fresh, before you quit you should try play until you break even...

Best advice my two friends got at a casino...

They lost over $100...

Good move. Playing to make up your losses is a really bad idea.

Yeah poker is for suckers. If you want to get money just roll drunks and mug blue hairs for the rolls of quarters the bus company gave them as part of the canino trip package.

in january/february i won about $400 at the regular weekly poker game, but man have my losses been mounting since the chinese new year. i dropped about $500 in three days in atlantic city, and over $300 in march.

for me, poker/blackjack/whatever is just entertainment. gambling money comes from the same pocket as drinking, eating and shopping. as long as i'm not dipping into the rent and savings (can't lie - it's happened twice), i don't mind.

i didn't play this week, though. and i don't think i'll play next week either. i should be taking a break, plus this new girlfriend of mine is getting expensive.

ehhhhhhhhhhh but recreation usually doesn't cost you a mountain financially...
and yeah, money invested on a girl is a wiser choice. in my opinion. unless she's a gold digger. then you can use her at the tables as scraps if ya need to.
