How many problems could we solve

if we bumped off Carlos Slim, and used his wealth for the greater good?

That's a serious amount of moolah! No-one could possibly use all that, not even Charlie Sheen.

It must be nice to know that you could take everyone on the planet out for a cup of coffee at Starbucks and STILL be super rich.

I don't think you would solve a lot of problems by doing that. In fact, I'm of the opinion you'd create other problems.

To distribute this bounty more or less in a fair manner, may people would cry loudly that a agency be created to do it...

And there goes away the bounty, sucked up in that vacuum of a black hole named bureaucracy.

In relation to this was just thinking (if it's relevant analogy and it seems to be) that bumping off Pablo Escobar in Colombia didn't solve the problems he created at all.

Money, either in it's lack or sudden acquisition causes more problems than it solves.

True. This is why I would be perfectly content with some money trickling my way. A trickling but constant flow of "other money" besides my paycheck.

Barring that, I'd be perfectly happy winning 100 grand on Rolling Cash 5.

I don't want millions, that would just make me crazy. I would just like a fresh start with some extra, for a few nice things for me.

When I win Powerball, put me on your death pool. I will eat, drink, and drug myself to death within a year. The sky is the limit!

I'd rather you just gave me a few grand and DIDN't eat drink or drug yourself to death. We could start a business. WE could travel. We could, occasionally, eat drink and drug, but not to death. WE CAN DO IT!

From the little I know about Colombia, Pablo Escobar also used a lot of his money to build neighbourhoods for the underprivileged and as a result is still remembered with fondness in those places, but if the damage caused by those with the money to be able to afford this kind of philanthropy outweighs the good, then blocks should be put on it (a bit like corporate contributions to political parties).
