We know this is happening with other species. For example, Cod move north to live on prey that thrive on waters adjacent to the ice cap. The do their feeding at the bottom where waters are 50 or 60 feet deep.

But as the icecap shrinks, depths are 200 feet. This will clearly disrupt the Cod's ability to feed and thrive. And so the question is whether the Arctic will become a new fishing grounds. Or whether so many species of fish cannot survive in those changed conditions.

Many questions. But one fact this is not disputed. These changes are created by mankind. What we don't know: how severe these changes will be.

Meanwhile, UN conventions have been ongoing for who owns what fishing grounds, mineral rights, etc in the soon to be ice free Arctic Ocean.
