Upon reading about one of the routine "Girls of the SEC" Playboy issues coming out - well, I don't remember what conference it was, but anyway --
For the Taliban, those editions must really be the very worst examples of American culture. They force the women to wear veils and don't let them attend school. Yeah, here in the good ole US of A, not only do we let women be all bare-ass naked, but we pick out college girls specifically, and highlight them all bare-ass naked. Ha-ha, Taliban. Why, I may even buy an issue, just to show em. |

*laughs* That was good. A good way to contribute to the American economy...
In New York City, it is legal for women to go topless in public. Perhaps as a sign of defiance, women there could go topless for a day. This of course could have both good and unintended harmful consequences. ![]() Speaking of Playboy, there was a Turkish edition of it for 10 or so years. Granted, Turkey is an anomaly in the Muslim world (Roman alphabet, no coverings for women, an army willing to defend the westernized principles of Ataturk, a desire to join the EU), but still, I remember finding that ironic when I heard that. (The gals I've seen from that version are pretty cute too.) Last edited by elSicomoro; 10-05-2001 at 11:57 PM. |
