Amazon unlimited cloud came free for a year with the purchase of a wifi router a few months ago. So I backed up all my 100,000 photos onto their servers. I don't like the interface with the pictures. I'd prefer a windows style folder system, but they have them organized into different folders according to when they were taken or when they were uploaded. You can choose. So the folder organization I had them in when I uploaded them was lost, and now it's just a big jumble of tens of thousands of pictures in Chronological order.
There is probably a way to organize them better, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I guess I could manually make a bunch of albums and drag stuff around. I really just wanted it to look like a drive on my computer. Here's a screen shot. |

You can see the dates over on the right. That will jump over to a year and narrow down your search from 100,000 photos to just 10,000 photos if you know the year you took it in. There are a lot of photos with "no date" and they seem to be ones that I copied from family members or that I scanned. Not sure why they don't have dates.
Over on the left is "This Day" and that's fun for looking back at what you did on this day over the years. Good for contemplating throwing a picture up on FB for TBT. Except mine are mostly baby pictures. Also on the left is "albums." I haven't used that, but I suppose you could use that to do some organizing. I realize now that I haven't invested any time into maximizing the experience with Amazon Cloud, and I think that is probably because I doubt I'll pay for it when the year is up, and I'll let it go away. |

I just realized that I had selected "Photos and Videos" at the top in that screen shot. Here are two more screen shots where I select the other options.

At the bottom of the "All Files" view, it looks like I can rename stuff and move things around. When I uploaded the files back in October/November it created those folders. Not sure why. I'm sure I had an "upload" folder and also that year folder, but I had dozens of others too, and it didn't create those.
So maybe this is where I can organize stuff. Hmm. I'm learning more about this drive as I type these posts. My folder structure appears to be present after all under the "pictures" folder. So never mind. Cloud is OK after all. |

That's a good point. You own 13 years worth of my stories, pictures and friends. Heavy.
