Locate family members

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to start searching for family members that I have lost touch with? I would love to get in touch with my ex-stepmother and my two half-brothers that I haven't talked to since 1988. My Dad, John Melton (now deceased) married a lady named Rose in Wichita, KS in about 1982. She was about 26 yrs. old and was from Chicago. They had two sons, Jeffrey and Jimmy Melton. I heard that Rose may have possibly re-married and moved to Colorado, but I'm not certain about that. Her last name may no longer be Melton, and it's possible that the boys' last names have changed too. Since we last had contact, I've moved and re-married, so my name, address, and phone number have changed also. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions! I can't really afford to pay for a private investigator at this time, but I would like to go ahead and start searching now. Thanks!!

We'll only offer suggestions if you can prove you're not trying to stalk them.

(Remember, you promised not to use the board for unlawful purposes, or something like that)

Locate family members

Oh....I see what you mean wolf. It really never crossed my mind that someone might think I was trying to find them to stalk them, or anything like that. I've been a daily viewer of the cellar site ever since I found it almost a year ago, but I've never posted anything before. I'm not sure how I could prove it, but I will certainly try. My maiden name is Tina Marie Melton, I'm listed on the Classmates website - graduated in Ponca City, OK in 1977. I'm Tina Clinton now, still in Ponca City. My husband and I started a sand drag race track 3 years ago, we have a website - www.oklahoma-offroad-motorplex.com. My two half-brothers know who their Dad was, even though they were little when he passed away. I know Rose wouldn't mind me getting in touch with her. Anything else I can do...?? Thanks very much for any help! And - stacyv - thanks for the two websites you mentioned, I'll try them.

Well, if you have an old address or even date of birth and first and middle names, you can pay $20 and go here

Didn't AZ (for those olde-tymers) find a bank with HIS last name on it once upon a time?

I found a mountain and a bridge in British Columbia with my name on it. They were named for a former Governor.
