Know who the enemy is part 2

MIAMI (Reuters) - A fugitive Florida couple accused of beating and chaining five children, pulling out their toenails with pliers and starving them, were caught in Utah, a sheriff's deputy said on Saturday.

Doctors alerted investigators two weeks ago when the couple's 16-year-old boy, who weighed just 60 pounds, was treated at a hospital for head and neck injuries.

The couple, John and Linda Dollar, cared for seven children aged 12 to 17 in their Citrus County home in west central Florida, investigators said.

The children were not the Dollars' biological children, nor were they foster children, but investigators would not discuss their relation for privacy reasons.

The Dollars were caught Friday evening in Utah, said a law enforcement officer at the San Juan County Sheriff's Office in that state. More information would be given at a news conference later, he said.

Florida's Department of Children and Families has taken custody of all the children, who said the Dollars beat and punished five of them for stealing food or messing up the house. They were forced to sleep in a closet.

Two children the siblings described as "the favorites," told investigators they were not abused. The others said the couple shocked them with an electric device, hit their feet with hammers, bound them with chains and pulled off their toenails with pliers.

These bastards should be strung up by their thumbs and the children allowed to inflict the same cruelty on them.

Wishful thinking, cause I know it will never happen, but damn...if anybody ever deserved cruel and unusual punishment, these monsters would definitely qualify.

We need mug shots for a before and after comparison.

If they did what was said that they did, then they just need to be shot so the important work of helping those kids can get started.

Too quick and painless. Not saying I personally did this but, occasionally when an inmate who was convicted of heinous crap like this was processed into the prison, newspaper articles about the dirtbag would mysteriously be left around for other inmates to find and read. Just as mysterious, the dirtbags always seemed to have 'mishaps' in the communal showers or walking to the messhall the very same day.

Strange how those things happen.

I'm not big into fancy punishment if the crime is heinous enough. Punishing someone who commits a bad enough crime only validates them, motivates some, and wastes resources better spent on people who are actually worth the effort.

Okay, so where did they come from? The Cabbage Patch? Their parents left them at the Dollar's Day Care 12-17 years ago and forgot to pick them up? They bought them during a clearance sale at Target?

Except for the fleeing to Utah part this is reminiscent of that case from New Jersey a year or two ago.

Actually, this DOES happen pretty commonly in prisons. The inmates are allowed access to newspapers, and there does seem to be a certain "honor among thieves." The one crime other inmates seem to have little tolerance for is those among their number who kill or harm children in ways like the two monsters above did. There was a story in my local paper a few years back about such an individual who was thrown in among the general population at the local county jail. The guy ended up being beaten by a couple of the other inmates to within an inch of his life and had to placed in solitary confinement for his own protection after he got back from the prison hospital. Personally, I think he (and the two above) should have been thrown back on the tender mercies of his fellows.

Caleb Fairley, the guy who murdered Lisa Manderarach and her daughter, Devon, (this was a big local case, as high profile murders don't usually occur in the Philadelphia Suburbs) was kept in solitary the entire time that he was at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Not according to a friend who spend something like two years in the same cell block. Can you be in the same wing and still be in solitary?

I'd be for giving the guy the old car battery with the jumper cables connected to the nuts thing. The woman could get it on her nipples. Then we could put them each in a burlap bag and give the kids each aluminum baseball bats to give them the pinata treatment, then you could just put them in with the general population of a maximum security prison with t-shirts saying they tortured and abused kids. They'd last about a day or two before they were beaten and raped to death.

Poor kids. What in this world is lower than torturing children? Hopefully, the damage is reversable with therapy and love.

I'd put the parents in with the lifers who will be sure to replace their shit-eating grins with ... something else.

they should both have the skin peeled from their backs, then be strapped together back to back so it heals up all stuck to each other. then they should be pulled apart. rinse, repeat. forevvvvvvver.

oh, and each of their toes smashed flat with the same hammer they used.

oh, and fine rusty barbed wire threaded through their nostrils.

Come on LJ, don't be shy. Tell us how you really feel about child molesters.
