Brother, can ya spare a planet?

Well according to these folks, if everyone lived like me we'd need 4 planets.

http://www.earthday.net/footprint/index.asp

How do you stack up?

And remember! Live simply, so I don't have to.

Thanks!

I'm going to risk my stellar reputation here and toss this out without having even been to the web site:

Shut up you fucking hippies.

Thank you.

I'll take 5.2 planets for myself, please, and I'm going to start with this one. OK, everyone off my planet!

6.9 planets!! woo hoo!

I'm going to use my lunch hour to drive around aimlessly. With the a/c on. And run over bunnies. Hoping to be at 8 planets by end of summer.

There are so many other sides to this that it becomes one of those multi-sided dies favored by fantasy gamers.

For example, how many planets do you produce? During my most productive time so far, I developed software for telecommunications, answered 1000 tech support questions (and chose the most difficult ones to work on), automated a small grocery store chain, helped develop an early internet provider, worked on a website that supported enabling the elderly to learn the net, built the foundation for an online record label, and much more. I think I may have produced enough for 100 planets or more per year in my most productive time so far. And future production may even be more than that, you never know.

And then, there's important differences in HOW you consume. For example, it is less wasteful of the earth to buy factory-farmed chickens than free-range. It takes less land to generate non-organic, genetically-engineered foods than it does organic. Are you making the right choices for the sake of the planet?

Do you have a pet? Waste

Put expensive synthetic oil in your car instead of fossil oil? Hmm, I'm not sure of the answer to that one.

6.3 planets. Not bad for a Pagan.

UT, don't forget that all that computer work you did was on electronics which consumed massive amounts of resources, and the offal of which is presently being dumped in third-world countries where starving children are being poisoned and injured every day rooting through the massive piles of debris to salvage salable parts.

We all need to just kill ourselves, leaving a few lucky vegan, outdoor-living tree-huggers to compost our bodies.

Hell, I only need 4.9 planets. I feel smugly satisfied.

5.8, baby.

Coupla times I actually needed a "never" category instead of "seldom" so I too think I could have increased my number of planets quite easily.

And hell, they never once asked me how much copper jacketed lead I carefully return to the earth every single week. That should have been good for two or three planets all by itself.

Hee hee Hee. He said "bunnies".

They didn't ask me about the used photo chemicals. *looks left, looks right, dumps down drain*

So, add another planet, for me, that makes five. then since I'm foot foot foot, that should increase my footprint by another three. So I am at 8, I beat lookout123!
