Brilliant But Cancelled

So, I was watching the final episode of Top Chef on Bravo last night, and they assailed me with commercials for a new show/website ... Brilliant But Cancelled.

Since I love many brilliant, but cancelled TV shows, I figured I'd check it out. Of the current offerings, I'm not sure what's actually brilliant, but I did enjoy Delvecchio, the first episode of which I'm watching online right now ... that was a feature of the site I didn't expect. Streaming content!

I'm hoping that they pick up series like Wonderland and Stingray (Nick Mancuso with the Corvette who did good deeds, not the Puppemation thing about the sub)

Firefly. The Adventures of Pete and Pete. A lot of original Nick shows, really.

Cool idea for a show.

My nominations:

Firefly seconded. The cancellation I mourn most.

The Tick. Both versions (the animated version was better, but it did get 2.5 seasons. The live-action version got snapped off at the roots.). Apparently the first season of the animated version is coming out on DVD, but missing one episode for some sort of legal reason.

Carnivale

Witchblade

Crusade

Dead Like Me

Jeremiah

Frank's Place

The Rumor Mill has it that Witchblade went down the tubes because of Yancey Butler's need for rehab ... although I thought the series jumped the shark when the time twisting bit came into play and the whole first season never happened.

I thought the time thing could have been cool if they followed the same plot as season one, but she knew what was going on this time; sorta like Tru Calling on a massive scale. But they didn't, oh well. Nottingham was cool, though.

I really miss Dead Like Me. Rumors were floating around that it would be revived, but who knows, now that Criminal Minds has taken off for Mandy Patinkin. Damn that new Showtime president, it's all his fault.

A couple of other great ones were G vs. E, and First Wave. That's Life was a really cute show while it lasted, but I think it ran its course.

Not the word I was looking for, but I won't dispute it.

I used to love Cupid, a short-lived ABC series starring Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall. Some of the best, quickest wit ever shown on television.

I agree with Carnivale. Cool show, didn't come right out and yell things in your face.

Too many to name... I do miss many from my childhood though, like G-Force and earlier.

Carnivale left the audience hanging. That sucked raw meat, as I watched it without fail each week. And as far as Dead Like Me goes, well...someone needs to have their frigging head examined. That was one of the best programs of the past ten years.
