Australia bound!
Mrs. Chrisinhouston and I just booked the tickets for our trip to Australia! Her company was already covering her Business First Class ticket and then her boss offered to buy one for me which is a pretty cool little bonus! We head south on September 5th and return on October 9th and as usual most of the trip is for my wife's work but we will have weeknights and weekends in and around Melbourne and a final 10 days on our own in Sydney to explore.
Now for a travel guide book and some time doing trip research! ![]() |

That's awesome! Your wife has a cool boss. That's unheard of. At least unheard of by me.

I forgot to mention that we will go back for a second trip in mid November for about a month. I'm hoping to get to see Alice Springs, Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock) and more of the outback. We won't know the dates for that trip until into the first one and while I doubt that the boss will cover me again, his doing so now makes it more affordable for a second trip.

Awesome Chris! If you need any help thinking of places to go, let us know.
![]() Not sure about the outback in November. Travel might be difficult if it rains, but I'd highly recommend a trip on 'The Ghan' if you have time. That goes from Adelaide up to Alice Springs (commonly referred to as 'The Alice'), so you'll see all sorts of stuff, and it's wildflower season then, so the sights you'll see will most likely be spectacular. Hmmm...wildflowers might be just about over by Nov, but maybe not. It's still an awesome trip.

Sweet.
Victoria is very photogenic, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Melbourne in September is footy finals season, you'll be hard put to get a ticket to the grand final, but catch a game if you can. Expect "Whatsyateam?" as a frequent conversation starter. Sydney is pretty much built for tourist photography. Thank you for saying Uluru!
