I've noticed when someone would email me a picture taken on their phone sometimes they would be sideways, and didn't matter if it was sent from the phone or had been downloaded to a computer first. It also didn't appear to matter if it was taken with the camera(phone) in portrait or landscape.
Then I open that picture in Photoshop, turn it upright, change the size, maybe trim it or enhance it, and save with a name change. Now I email this modified picture and the damn thing is laying down again. Phones must put some code in the file to cause it to turn when emailed. The only way I've found around it is open that new modified picture and take a screen shot then email that and it will stay upright.
