She should have smirked arrogantly while brandishing a map in the face of the interviewer... you know, "Bush-style"

Perhaps its one of those localized things - I can't imagine anyone THAT ignorant. I really can't and I live with me - Sheesh.

I thought at first I wasn't impressed because of my liberal leanings and what I felt was a farce, and a bad choice.

I've since felt vindicated.

Oh, and I love me some Katie Couric. I always have, despite the criticism she gets.

Letterman pointed out that if McCain really does believe that suspending his campaign is important, then why isn't Palin really stepping up to the plate. As he put it, and I paraphrase "If for any reason you are unable to fulfill your duties as President of the US..." you know the rest. That would be her job, ffs, to step in wherever needed.

I heard Letterman make that statement, and thought, if McCain had to suspend his campaign to attend to serious shit in Washington, why wasn't Palin there with him, to learn what was going on and how they solve these problems.

The other morning they were interviewing a bunch of MI hockey moms, who were gushing how they would vote for Palin because, "She's a hockey mom, just like us". Fucking airheads.

You sound surprised, and if you are surprised then I am surprised at you. Spend a little more time outside your circle of acquaintances and you'll be afraid to leave your house.

No, I'm not surprised, but I'll always be outraged by such stupidity.

Get used to Sarah. We're going to be seeing a lot more of her for the next 8 to 16 years.

I really don't think so.

But, I still have hope for humanity.

I dunno - I didn't think it was that bad. In fact I found it quite refreshing.
I dislike Palin's politics - she is as near as opposite my views as is possible in mainstream politics - but it's quite nice to see an unpolished politico occasionally.

Oh he's inept.
She just seems unpolished.

We're quite suspicious of polish over here (with a small p, although there are plenty suspicious of Polish too). Hence our tacit approval of John Prescott - Deputy Prime Minister - lamping a campaigner who threw an egg at him.
