He's gonna need to rein in the smarm. I like Colbert ok, I don't watch him regularly (political humor), but, in clips he seems ok.

I'll miss Letterman. I've watched him since the early NBC days.

On "The Colbert Report" he's playing a character largely based on Bill O'Reilly. I don't think he's going to be that character on Late Night.
