A tat inquirie

Hopefully one of ya'll can give me a little help here: I am thinking of getting tattooed in the middle of my back, between my shoulderblades. All black and about 6 inches tall.

Any clue as to how much that should run me? I'm a poor college student so lesser is better!

Tats are old school, get a cross(metal), get it very hot and lay on it.
Probably $100/$125.

uh.. you're in san fran? go to buddahs tattoo, i have a shoulder piece they did, very nice and very quick, also clean.. which is rather important as far as tattoos go...heh.

as far as cost? like I asked... if you are in california it's not going to be cheap. 300+ dollars if you don't know the artist, hell! it might be cheaper to get a flight to kansas and go to big daddy cadillacs (the guy who did my back piece.. which is rather extensive.. and still growing ) ) and something to think about about a back piece is the pain involved, mine took 6 hours..but it was worth every second..

on a side note, I don't recall if she's in sanfran or san diego (sp?) look up Judy Parker.. she's awesome.. although her style isn't what you need for the cross, her shop will do the job right.. (she's really nice, and has a very light touch ) I dunno there's little worse than a tattoo that doesn't 'take' or is done poorly.. or if you can find Tim Hoyer or Todd Rizley.. expensive but worth it

sorry brain fried tonite.. can't type or think in a straight line

Tatoo synchronicity today. First this thread. Then an article on slashdot about an obfuscated C tatoo. I love to code, but I think this is a bit much.

heh okay I'm a dumbass... i looked at your tagline, cleveland? huh? well...I don't know many artists up in that direction, although Tim (last I heard) was in Jersey.. (old high school friend and an awesome tattoo artist, if you get ahold of him tell him that Brandt says 'Hi' he'll know who that is (I hope ).. or still, jump a plane and come here big daddy (Stacy, 230 pound irishman) will do you up right

Hawk's tattoo in Galesburg Illinois. that is the place to go. but in reality you can find agood shop in cleveland, there are plenty to choose from. the thing with ink is that it isn't entirely about the initial cost. you need to go look at the a couple of different folks' work, see a style that you like. look for drag marks in the fine lines, etc. find out how long they have been at that shop - you don't want someone that bounces around.

i also wouldn't recommend someone that feels the need to stencil. ask about his/her prices, ask if they will retouch in 6 months to a year without recharging. sometimes it is worth paying a bit more for a service. i would say putting permanent ink in your skin is one of those times.

WARNING************* once you get your first one, you will not stop so plan accordingly. pieces that are centered in your back can make it hard to plan your 3rd, 7th, 10th piece around.************

While driving out to a restaurant in Wayne, PA, we noticed a store on Rt. 30 which advertised "tattooing and taxidermy". I would suggest that if you go to this place, that you be REALLY specific about which service you're engaging them for.

(Knowing the Cellar, somebody probably knows all about this place. Hell, somebody probably works there or owns it.)

The photography is poor, and I am too lazy to puzzle it out.

What would it do if I ran it?

Without any analysis, I'd guess it prints itself out.

Damn. That was so obvious (ie "hello world" was actually visible in it) I assumed that couldn't be it.
