Katrina disaster clouds the Bush 9/11 reputation

The recent debacle in New Orleans has touched all of us with it's profound and shocking pictures of destruction and anarchy. But with the waters begining to recede with what is left of the Bush presidency some interesting dynamics have cropped up. First and foremost is the illusion of Bush as great protector since 9/11. This is the largest revelation from this disaster as far as Bush and the presidency are concerned. It was quite obvious that the Bush administration and the overall government system he has tried to engender are dismal failures on their supposed strongest points. This glaring revelation is one that sheds some light on some other factors stemming from 9/11, the greatest of these, at least in this author's humble opinion, is the undermining of the Bush administration complicity in the 9/11 attacks. If Katrina showed us anything it showed us that the possiblity of incompetence on 9/11 is very plausible now. Of course there is a case to be made by some that Katrina as well as 9/11 was intentionally ignored for a purpose. Although I still believe there is a potential for some sort of complicity in the events of 9/11, I think Katrina is one that caught Bush and the boys completely off guard. There are those calling Bush the 21st equivalent of Nero, but I find this one hard to swallow. The complete lack of preparadness smacks of 9/11 type of confusion. Unlike 9/11 there is a scape goat here, ie. Mikey Brown and more culpability to go around than 9/11, with Bush actually "taking" responsiblity for the disaster. 9/11 didn't see the demotions and resignations one would think should come after such a supposed failure, this is where the possibility still exists for complicity and cover up, case in point, awarding Geogre Tenet the Medal of freedom after years of incompentent service. In any event, Katrina opens up new questions on the actual nature of the Bush regime and it's connection with 9/11.

Bush will take advantage of powerful imagery -- the Associated Press reports the speech will be held in historic Jackson Square, with the famous St. Louis Cathedral as a backdrop -- and he won't risk having anyone around who might disagree with him or ask an impertinent question. In fact, the AP says, there won't be a live audience at all. (And even the journalists covering the event are being told they won't be allowed to stray from their press vans.)

So that's why the Blackwater thugs are there.
