4/10/2002: Big-ass shoes
![]() He's James Syiemiong, he's in India, and he makes shoes. After seeing the World Trade Center go down, he was insipred to make a pair of really really big shoes. "The New York tragedy changed my approach towards life. I thought I could do something as a professional that could convey my grief and sense of anger at the mindless violence." The shoes are 3.71 metres long. He expects to make the next Guinness book. Why, you ask? Why not? Do what you are driven to do, I say. |

Well, for the folks who thought the sand sculpture was trivializing 9/11, we have these shoes...

James is one wacky cobbler. You have to be impressed by his craft, the sheer volume of leather, the stitching and with Western flair, they're obviously intended for giant dancing, or at least giant strutting. Thank you James.

This guy has soul. I mean, most people would just sit around and feel like a heel, but he's sockin' it to 'em and definitely not loafing around.
Hey man, if the shoe fits... |

It won't solve the world's problems but maybe it's a good first step?

That's one giant step for mankind. A truly awesome feat. Before we poke fun at him, just walk a mile in his shoes. Should take about 10 steps, I reckon.

it's not the size of your shoes...
It's not so much that he's made big shoes for 9/11, but that he's made big pimpin' shoes for 9/11.
