You're right about picture 1. That is the outside of the IMAX theater at the Pacific Science Center. Which is, itself, inside the Pacific Science Center.

Picture 2. Still no one's identified it, so another clue. This is a very specific piece of gear, and only a PART of the actual piece of equipment. How it was separated from the other part (which would make the picture too obvious for this thread) is another mystery. I had to ask two horse experts because my google-image-fu was not strong enough. So, English tack (but a very specific application of English tack), and only part of a piece of equipment. Good luck!
