Four Years ago Yesterday

I missed an anniversery. Yesterday was exactly four years since Areil Sharon intentionally and successfully restarted the Intafada. Intafada 2 as some call it. He was so successful as to cause something like 4000 lives lost to the resulting bombings and terrorism. Let's not forget, such violence had been all but eliminated five years ago with the Oslo Accords. Remember the peace treaty that was actually working until Likud called for and got the assassination of Prime Minister Begin. And then successfully restarted the violence with acts such as trampling on sacred ground - a Mosque atop the rock. That last act was four years ago yesterday. So long ago that many forget the years when there was no such violence.

That was very happy news if taking grasp of reality. The daily murders of arabs and Americans throughout the world is not situation normal as both the mental midget president and others here would have us believe. Remember when Americans actually led the world using fundamental American principles? Well they can come back. It is possible. But first we must eliminate the enemies of this world who did not have power 5 years ago. Those who use god to justify their decisions.

Do you think things will get better? Not if we keep perverting science, declaring everyone in the world as idiots, impose democracy on other countries using military force, plan the future attacks on Iran and North Korea, act as if the world policeman, and screw the UN. Once upon a time, things actually worked. Problems were solved. But that also meant the world had great leaders such as Menachem Begin.

Clearly we must decide whether Cellar posts will be optimistic or pessimistic. This November, Americans will determine whether they want more Fatherland Security and MBA (bean counter) decisions makers - or instead decide to stop making enemies of everyone in the world. Yes. Once upon a time - only five years ago - even the Arab Israeli conflict was ending.

Remember, the end of an Arab-Israeli conflict is the enemy of Likud who needs killing and murders to justify the annexation of the West Bank - their extremist right wing version of Zionism. And right wing extremist religious Americans need these conflicts to bring on Armageddon. They look forward to the death of most Jews, the conversion of those who remain alive, and the second coming of Christ. War is a means to a better live - in their perverted views. So perverted that they openly contribute money to more West Bank settlements and support George Jr.

Drive the extremists back from where they came. The the world - and posts in The Cellar - return to their optimistic attitudes. November 2004 is when Americans decide to destroy the American dream or bring back what even good Republican conservatives such as Pat Buchanan advocate.

Brainwashing is when George Jr speaks and the citizen does count the number of lies. Murder is when Ariel Sharon is permitted another accomplishment to add to his rumored massacres of Egyptian war prisoners and the well known massacre of 5,000 Palestinian women and children.

How many more years of death and attacks will we suffer before even the dumb among us finally admit that George Jr and his admininstration is the enemy of America and the world.

Yes another post about the scumbag president. But then (and unfortunately) the post has no factual errors.

You are preaching to the choir, TW. I am in agreement with much of what you wrote. I didn't mean to be flippant, it's just that the whole damn thing feels so discouraging sometimes. The American people have gone to sleep, and when they are finally forced to wake up, they are going to very unhappy with the nightmare that was once the American dream. I try to tell myself that it's still possible to turn things around, but, all too often, I feel like a child whistling in the dark to keep her spirits up. Bush is going to win. I feel it in my bones. God, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

And I did not take your comments to be flippant. I saw it as a point not properly explained AND an oppurtunity to raise a concept to the discussion level. I am amazed how many have forgotten when terrorism was not a normal part of the Middle East. I remember a picture of israel troops holding their guns up, and Palestinians putting flowers in those gun barrels. Yes, long before there was a Prime Minister Sharon and a Pres George Jr, there was a world that actually expected years of peace. Back then, anything that was a problem had been made irrelevant (Milosevick and Saddam) or was being brought slowly back into the world community (N Korea and Iran). All that ended with the actions of Sharon and George Jr. But many have forgotten what the world was like only five years ago. Thank a Constitutional Convention, presidents must be relected every four years instead of being kings or dictators for eight or twenty years.
