35 knots is the posted public speed of an aircraft carrier (what the navy lets you know). It can actually go significantly faster than that - but that's not "public information".

My dad [army(Ret)] told me a story of how he was driving by a military practice field down a road that ran next to it. Well on the field he saw a tank. The tank[M1 Abrahm] was headding streight on an intercept cource with my dad's position it cought up to and passed my dad turning without a breaking and paralelling my dad's jeep. How fast my dad was going....... 75mph

Is anyone else extremely amused by the missle flying off of the flight deck? I won't attest to it's reality, but, damn, that's funny!
