I'm sure you can pick up a copy of The Artist's Way at the library, if you are interested. She says they are supposed to be 81/2 x 11 pages. They're supposed to be handwritten, not typed, because there's not supposed to be any editing or self-censoring. But I've tried them typed, just keeping my eyes closed, and it works pretty well for me. My hands tend to go numb, particularly in the morning, if I hand-write too long.
It's a great dare for me because it means something. I was just being lazy about the time commitment (compared to something like scratching your bum!) I did it this morning, and it cleared my head for the day - I felt really productive (then again HM was out and I usually get more done then too).

I checked t'internet and the pad I'm using is comparable - Letter size is slightly wider and shorter than A4. It took me 40 mins handwriting this morning - I'm going to do it for at least a week.
