chain emails
I got a forward from a woman I work with, someone I actually like as she has the same effed up sense of humor and disdain for stupidity in the workplace that I have, about child abuse. I figured she would know better.
It's a really horrible poem written from the viewpoint of a child who is a victim of abuse. It's called "Daddy it hurts." It gets worse, there's a line near the end that goes something like this: Oh me, oh my...I have to say My daddy murdered me today. Yes, I'm making up the first line...the second line is verbatim. It ends with this admonition: IF YOU ARE AGAINST CHILD ABUSE! Post this as ‘Daddy … it hurts’ If you do not send this to everyone you know Then you obviously don’t care about child abuse At first I thought this was just a chain letter and I wasn’t going to send it either, but now I realize that this is an important situation At least 5 children each day from around the world die from child abuse. If you are heartless and chose to do nothing but delete this, then let you be abused, and you will know how they feel.. WTF? Certainly I am against child abuse, but what does forwarding this email do? My question then, is...what do the spammers gain from people forwarding emails such as this, and the thousands of other chain emails out there? Do they get money? Do they get some kind of celestial credit? I'm so confused. And apparently, I'm an evil soul for not forwarding that mail to "everyone I know." You're welcome.
