Sundae Memories
I've been thinking it might be a nice idea to have a thread where we can share good/funny memories about Sundae...without going to the threads in which we are still processing the loss of our friend.
Over the years, she made me laugh, she made me think, she even made me mad from time to time. But she had that thing about her where she always made you feel worthy. Even those she might not have liked at first, she always gave them the benefit of the doubt and the generosity of compassion and understanding differences, and usually became friends with them. I think some of these hard-fought relationships produced some of her biggest admirers: because you know it was the real deal and it could be depended upon. So without further adieu, I'll start with a couple of my memories: When Sundae got wind of Brianna and I talking about the Strawberry Festival, we all came to the conclusion that we three were definitely Strawberry Festival Queens...if not in reality then in spirit. The SF holds so many memories for me: the first year of it my mom was our Campfire Girl leader and we had a snow-cone booth. My friends and I looked forward to the June festival every year, as it promised good food, good fun...and boys! ![]() ![]() A story that still makes me laugh out loud was one Sundae told on herself (the details are a little fuzzy so this is in my own words) about how she had on a pair of pants that were a bit tight. She was with friends and she thought she was in a position where she could discreetly pass gas. She said, due to the pants, the thing blarted up the back of her pants and out the top...loudly. I got a visual and audial (is that a word?) impression at the time and I laughed so hard. Please feel free to share your own memories here as you think of them. Brianna stories are welcome too. ![]() |
