Also, I noticed a few things...

First, every group of five letters or numbers ends with and 'I' or an '8'

Second, the only group of two letters is 'JB' which are the two white letters on the "Hide Your Sorrows" page, backwards

Third, (and I know this is already posted, I think) in the source I found four messages:
"wax"
"A one armed skeleton"
"find me"
"Not smart by half"

These may pertain to the translated text, and they may not...(I read something here about a mine in arizona...?)

I can't translate it yet... I hope others have better luck

Hey-- I'm new here and have been looking over the TINP thread and noticed this...
A few months back I was trying to find DDD at my library. Although it wasn't there I found another book, a compilation of short stories by Murakami, titled The Elephant Vanishes.

Does that have anything to do with the vanishing elephant hint a few pages before this?
