Damned disgusting.

Try thinking. Try understanding your own interests -- that should help you understand mine.
World domination sounds like more than an 'interest'. It might even qualify as a hobby.

Again, I really wish you could fight 'your' war instead of the Reserve and Guard troops who came for the WMD's and stayed for the nation building. Having this adminstration plan the war in Iraq is a little like having you kid sister fill out your NCAA basketball pool. You can be pretty sure it isn't going to be a winning pick.

But we're going to keep at it. According to our president, it will be a couple of years, and probably another administration, who will bring the troops home. So another hundred billion dollars, a few hundred more American lives, and we may still be there in time to watch the Taliban II get elected.

As for the Constitution, pimps take care of their hookers better than this adminstration has taken care of the Constitution. Bush is about as much of a founding father as Ike Turner.

That is the beautiful part for the GOP. The troops will stay after the airhead leaves office. If the next President pulls down troop numbers, they can say he lost Iraq. If he keeps troop levels constant, they can say he lost Iraq. If he adds troops, they can say he lost Iraq. It is the perfect crime.

That depends on how the campaign goes. If the winner promises to pull out or stay put and then does it, (s)he should be clean.
But of course would be blamed for the 3 million deaths from shock, induced by a kept campaign promise.

That would make too much sense. Actually, if they promise to take troops out, the pundits will be yelping "they're gonna cut and run!", and if they keep the promise, the pundits will yelp "see, I told you so!".

Even though it would actually be the candidate who told you so.

He tells me what he's going to do.
I vote for him.
He does what he says he will.
Why should I care what the pundits say?
They may affect the vote, swaying voters one way or the other, by carping about the promises. But once he's elected, fuck 'em, let 'em bitch.

Of course, but Griff's post was about what the GOP's yelpers will be doing.

Why thank you Mr. Bruce! I certainly hope not. Long time lurker though and thought I would register and join in on the fun. I came to the site initially for the IOTD but browse the political forum threads quite a bit. You will be seeing more of me I'm sure.
