[quote=Shawnee123]Though I wish we could have ousted Cheeseburger Montgomery as AG, I'm proud of Ohio today. Governor and Senator...wow. This red state is turning blue!
[quote] Just realized that Montgomery got beat after all. It was iffy this a.m. Except for trying to legislate "morals" through an all out smoking ban, I am now really pleased with the results.

TW...I have been quite strong in my opinions about the US's new habit of keeping people against their will.
I've also stated my opinion on terror suspects and how they're treated by authorities in the US. Just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

UG...I thought the purpose of being in Afghanistan was to find Bin Laden, and the purpose of being in Iraq was to create democracy?
Those two sound like fairly different agendas to me.

Ten minutes, tops. Five to sign in and five to go through the two page ballot. I split my ticket.
Democratic Senator, Representative; Republican Atty Gen'l. Numerous NP judges. 14 (!) City measures. No to subsidizing pro sports teams. No to four foot cushion between dancer and patron, yes to transportation levy. State measures: no to ending the inheritance tax, no to permission to sue gov't for lost potential revenue due to zoning laws. yes to 15% min solar/wind sources for utilities by 2020. I backed winners, all.

TW, I did post in that SS thread and I've made quite a few refernces in other posts to that law.
UT, I think your question was directed at me...... I did not know anyone blown up on 7/7 , but I did know people who died in the Birmingham pub bombings by the IRA. And I'm sure you probally know someone who knows someone who donated 'for the cause'.... the trickle-down effect is real.

Face it, Swann was never going to carry the eastern part of the state after the T.O. fiasco. We aren't going to take a chance on any wideouts. They should have run a linebacker.

Aliantha, consider what our chances of doing either would have been had we stayed out.
I'm just starting to read Thomas P.M. Barnett's Blueprint For Action: A Future Worth Creating. So far, I'm fascinated. I'll probably be talking about this book's ideas from time to time.
