I see some wtf photos.
I should have dubbed it. 'Thread of beauty and Zen like stuff.'  The reflected sunlight theory goes out the window in 1868 when Norwegian Anders Jonas Angstrom uses prism to show that sunlight is different from auroral light. The thing with a hole on both ends is a zit-popper / blackhead remover. Instead of squeezing, you press down directly on the area, with the offending blemish exposed through the hole. The pressure is more specific than with squeezing.
