She's pretty.
Here's Jax when he was a bit littlerrrrr and then a week or so ago after chasing Kangaroo's at the secret lakes - bad dog! Some of you will notice the lack of Lucy in these shots. Lucy and Jackson were having some issues being in the back yard together and Lucy was having issues with the bitch next door (4 legged, not 2). Lucy now lives with some friends of mine on 5 acres. She's an only dog with a 4 yr old little boy master who she adores, and the boys (including Jax) and I still get to visit and play. |

Do they shake the sand out easily, or do they drag it home and shed it slowly?

Jinxie - he's now 10. When he comes inside and lays on my bed, he leaves a lovely circle of sand and burs, with some black fur mixed in.
The kittens run like mad, bounce through the bush, climb trees and generally muck up all the way back from the beach...so there's not much sand left when they get home. Jackson tends to carry a bucket load in his fur, which he loves to deposit on the couch when he rolls and scratches his back. |

That's good news Ducks about Lucy. Less trouble for everyone, and you still get to play with her, what a great solution.
Handsome dog, and your cats on the beach astound me too. But I'm a thoroughly urban cat owner; I get seriously worried if they're hanging about the screen door too much. It's not a cat safe environment out there. But I bet they'd have a great time at the beach.

There are no loose cats running around my neighborhood now. There used to be several. Evidently, we have a cat killer running amuck, so I CANT EVER let Turbo outside. If only I knew he would stay in the fenced in backyard....
But would I love to be there on the beach with your cats Ducks. They must be in heaven.

The boys do love the beach. There's soldier crabs, things moving in the wind, trees and the biggest kitty litter tray they have ever seen.
Its a funny (but awesome) cat neighbourhood here. We have Casper (boy) next door, my 3 boys - Max, Frank and Jinx; Hudson, Harvey & Hamish across the road, and Skitzo (entire boy) down a few doors. Hamish, Skitzo, Max and Frank are the same age and they go across to the vacant block and hang out together. They chase each other up the palm trees and chase geckos in the grass. Hoodlums they are. Skitzo and my two come down the beach nearly every day when I walk Jackson or the kids go down to play in the bush. Frank quite likes water and will stand beside my feet when I am in the lapping waves fishing and all three will nearly hop in the fish bucket. Jinx, Hudson and Casper are all older cats. Jinx hangs out next door all the time, inside, in their garden, on the couch and Casper lived over here for 2 weeks recently. Hudson is a grumpy, grumpy old boy....likes food and people, and food! Not other cats, but he, Casper and Jinx will sleep under the same car or in the garden near each other. They will all gang up on the rogue males that come around. There was a huge fight in my shed two nights ago and it was my two little boys and Casper taking on this big Calico. Hudson came bolting across the road and they all chased this other cat away. Pico - we have some terrible issues lately. Cats getting trapped and people stealing dogs for fighting (which is a big concern for me with Jackson being such a big strong boy). All our garages have the roller door up a little so the cats can duck in if they are in trouble and we all lock our cats in at night...but during the day they are all free range in this little area. |
