Alan Turing.
He didn't live long enough to be one of the stately homos of England.
But he saved countless lives during WWII for an establishment that (officially at least) considered him a deviant.

He's just received a posthumous pardon for his "crime".
For that I am proud of my country.

In 1952 he was sentenced to chemical castration. Pink triangle anyone..?
We live and learn.
