I was really pissed at him about 25 years ago when he was meddling with my local airport to open more slots for an airport from his region. Clearly abusing his power in my mind. The worst sort of political bullshit. Senators should not be running airports.

But in recent years he seemed to place his love for the country ahead of his party at times. It was refreshing to see. I disagreed with probably 60% of what he did, but that's a far cry better than the 100% disagreement I have with the likes of McConnell.
