We put up a "no soliciting" sign a few years back. My wife wrote it just after a really annoying door to door salesman, and her handwriting looks like a lunatic wrote it. It's very effective. For the few people who do ignore the sign, you can be blatantly rude to them and not feel bad because you warned the fuckers.
