Sarge got my present!
It's a very vain one - I sent a personalised calendar. A whole year of Sundaes. It just took so long to arrive I feared it was lost. Don't fret if you sent something that isn't in the photo - his mail service does seem to take an inordinate amount of time! ETA - the haul below is from a collection of Dwellars, not just me! Although you can probably recognise my phiz in there.

My Wheaties are here!
And there must be some mistake because the invoice says that Amazon only charged me $23 for the case of 14 large boxes. That's like 60% off the store price. Maybe I should place another order real quick? |

We do the subscribe and save, and they did take another couple bucks off, but I wasn't sure what that was, so I didn't mention it.
The last case we bought in the early Fall was a lot more expensive, so I think I'm going to get another two cases. I'll give one to the local food pantry and keep the other for myself. That will take me until June or so with the case I just got. It's an outstanding price. They have to be losing money on this. |

Glatt,
As an alternative, you may want to check out the cereal selection at Aldi's. Their stuff is really good and is a lot cheaper than the regular grocery store.

Yeah, it's still $1.64 per box, for nothing but flour, sugar, and salt.

And has anyone told Homeland Security that operatives in Washington are stockpiling essential foodstuffs?

Congratulations! Excuse my ignorance, but what does a heifer do for you? Is it just another animal for the herd, or are you going to breed it or something? (I don't even know whether to call it a he or a she.)

Thanks Glatt!
Heifer = Female bovine that has not yet calved. We bought her to add a pedigreed purebred Maine Anjou to our herd. We have been breeding strictly for 4 H calves but want to breed purebreds. This female could produce either kind of show cattle. [breeding / 4-H] She is also a viable donor female which means we can flush her and sell embryos. Last year we added a half blood Simmental female. Some breeding cattle that are of the right conformation and pedigree can be sold for as much as $100,000 If someone paid us that for an animal we would probably faint but we want to try to work our way into the upper echelon of breeding cattle.
