saunders pitched pretty well out there as the angels won 9-1.
worthy of mentioning are the 3 home runs hunter hit in the game. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* toronto blue jays vs florida marlins tallet - johnson sweep sweep sweep. poor torontonians. its like tossing a blue jay off the cn tower with a ball and chain wrapped around its legs, and then watching it trying to fly. nothing can stop the blue jays from hitting the bottom. bet on the florida marlins *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* la angels vs san diego padres weaver - young jered weaver is the real deal. all you need to do is watch this guy and you'll understand. bet on the la angels *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* clevland indians vs st.louis cardinals lee - carpenter chris carpenter leads all the major leagues with his 1.23 era. and to think his velocity still has room to grow. bet on the st.louis cardinals *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

the marlins completed the sweep, beating up the blue jays 11-3.
lee outpitched carpenter for a 3-0 win. jered weaver pitched a complete game shut out as the angels won 6-0. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* philadelphia phillies vs toronto blue jays hamels - romero this will be the blue jays 5th loss in a row. it'll be their 18th loss in their past 25 games. the worst in the major leagues in that span. the problem is...its gonna get worse. to no suprise of course, as they are the worst team in the majors. bet on the philadelphia phillies *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

the free-falling blue jay, with the ball and chain around its leg, hit the wall, limiting the speed of its fall, but there's still a ways to go.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* colorado rockies vs tampa bay rays cook - price i must admit that i'm a fan of this 23 year old pitcher price. a fear one would have at placing their money on him, is that he's on a pitch count, and will not pitch further than the 7th inning. the rays bullpen remains elite, while their bats are out of this world. i've been going on about how their first 4 bats are the best in the majors... upton, craford, longoria and pena. funny thing is, number 5 and 6 are zorbist and bartlett, who are batting .318 and .376. the team is young, and their farm system is top of the line. the yankees and red sox are still gonna need to do some work to compete against this superior rays team. bet on the tampa bay rays *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

kansas city royals vs arizona diamondbacks hochevar - haren kansas city will be in a pennant race pretty soon. the royals have a young team with a very rich farm system. hochevar is probably gonna end up being the royals best starter. haren is not as impressive as his numbers might seem. this game pays pretty well. bet on the kansas city royals *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

ok, we got a couple losses there, but we still maintain one of the highest percentages on the net in this baseball season.
i've got a long weekend of work, so i'll post a few picks running through sunday...... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* friday la angels vs la dodgers saunders - billingsley two great pitchers go head to head in this la clash. the angels line-up is superior to the dodgers who are still without manny. bet on the la angels bet on the under *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* saturday kansas city royals vs st.louis cardinals bannister - carpenter carpenter is the best starter in the game. the only thing holding the cardinals back is their weak line-up. bet on the st.louis cardinals bet on the under *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* la angels vs la dodgers weaver - weaver there is no comparing these two weaver's. jered, at this time, is certainly one of the top 5 starters in the game, possibly top 3. bet on the la angels *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* sunday boston red sox vs atlanta braves wakefield - jurrjens jurrjens should dominate this line-up, while the braves could very well beat this knuckle-baller up. bet on the atlanta braves *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

ny mets vs st.louis cardinals hernandez - pineiro how the hell are the cardinals the favorites here? it makes no sense. could it be because reyes and delgado are not in the line-up? even without them, the mets line-up is by far superior. neither of the starters stand out, and they're playing in ny for the pink unicorn's sake. bet on the new york mets *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* tampa bay rays vs philadelphia phillies moyer - price i can go on and on about price, but the out-most here is moyer. there are 12 year olds that throw a harder fast ball than this guy. moyer does not look good at all out there, maybe its about time he moved on to golf. bet on the tampa bay rays *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* oakland a's vs san fransisco giants mazzaro - lincecum you need to jump all over this price on lincecum's start. you're not gonna find it so high again against such a weak team. bet on the san fransisco giants *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

toronto blue jays vs cincinnati reds richmond - arroyo votto is finally back in the game, and the reds are back in contention. for the blue jays, its the phillies after this, and then they finally get a taste of what the rays are all about. bet on the cincinnati reds *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* la angels vs colorado rockies saunders - marquis the rockies run is no suprise to me, as i called them for 2nd place behind the dodgers at the start of the season. saunders and the angels are at a whole different level. bet on the la angels *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

NY Mets vs St.Louis Cardinals
Santana - Carpenter What an early afternoon treat we've got. Two of the absolute elite pitchers in the game. My moneys on Chris, as i believe he's the best in the game. Bet on the St.Louis Cardinals

for monday....
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* toronto blue jays vs tampa bay rays halladay - niemann bottom of the first, bases loaded, nobody out, pena at bat with a 3-2 count ....is it a walk or a grand slam..... for the rest of this season, these two teams will face each other more than any other two teams in baseball. bet on the tampa bay rays *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* st.louis cardinals vs san fransisco giants thompson - lincecum its too bad we couldn't have a carpenter vs lincecum match-up. bet on the san fransisco giants *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* la dodgers vs colorado rockies wolf - jimenez the dodgers are around .500 at home in their past 25 games. funny how all those home games were only paying out 1.25-1.30. are they missing the fact that manny is not yet back. do the math, bet against the dodgers at this time. ubaldo jimenez is the superior pitcher here. by the way, the rockies over their last 22 games are 19-3 bet on the colorado rockies *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

fact....the blue jays are 2 - 3 in the past 5 that halladay has started. in addition, this is halladay's first game off injury. the elite pitchers of the major leagues are under .500 while coming off an injury. when the blue jays were in 1st place in the major leagues, and all the silly media was going on about the jays being a world series team, i began making some pretty extreme posts about the reality behind the blue jays as a team. where a team is in the standings, does not always indicate how good a team is. form plays a big part of that early on in a season. teams that are truly in contention, become in form later in the season, and even more so near play-off time.. its the smaller, weaker teams that have to be in form when everyone good is out of form to get some wins. the blue jays are that weaker team with no light in sight. the rays on the other hand, are the elite, getting in form slowly like the yankees, to compete for this pennant race. i keep hearing people talking about the rays as if winning the division was a fluke. lets take a closer look at these rays.... they are without any doubt, the fastest team in baseball. bj upton 24 yrs 28 stolen bases, elite lead off man carl crawford 28 yrs .316 average, leads the major leagues with an incredible 39 stolen bases already. evan longoria 23 yrs 2nd in rbi's in the american league, .306 average, 16 home runs.... one of the greatest baseball players of our time. carlos pena 31 yrs leads the american league with 23 home runs bartlett 29 yrs .364 average, and all round player with speed and pop scott kazmir 25 yrs career numbers .385 era 823 strike outs in 773.2 innings pitched... he is who he is and can only get better. james shields 27 yrs .341 era, some consider him to be the rays best starter... he's good, but the rays hold some serious pitchers. david price 23 yrs so far in the major leagues, he's got a 3.38 era, but expect that to improve with time. without doubt, he is the rays elite.... time will show that. expect his strike-out ratio to out numbers his innings pitched, he's that dominating. jeff niemann 25 yrs solid starter making a claim in the world series rays rotation. matt garza 25 yrs 361 era, pitching well of late jp howell 26 yrs 1.67 era the rays closer has not given up a run since becoming tampa bay's closer... 46 k's in 37.2 innings wheeler, balfour, bradford and choate make this bullpen one of the strongest in the majors [not to compare with the mets or red sox pens] Quote:

for tuesday..... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* st.louis cardinals vs san fransisco giants carpenter - johnson chris carpenter leads the major leagues with his 1.78 era, he also leads the major leagues with his 0.70 whip. numbers don't always tell the truth, but in this case it does. if you haven't seen him this season, i suggest that find a way to watch this guy right now, its some of the best you'll ever see. bet on the st.louis cardinals *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

halladay grants the jays their 4th loss in the last 6 games halladay has started in... he's not really helping much, is he, lol.
lincecum pitched a complete game shut-out, allowing the cardinals only 2 hits in the entire game. it took the dodgers 13 innings to pick up the win against the rockies. we've still got carpenter win againts the giants for tonight, this is for tommorow wednesday........ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* toronto blue jays vs tampa bay rays romero - shields there is no comparing these two teams, they are leagues apart. romero is about the only starter worth mentioning from the rest of the blue jays rotation. if i ran the rays, i'd start resting up some players when playing such a weak opponent as the jays. even if they do, they're still, by far, the superior team. bet on the tampa bay rays *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* texas rangers vs la angels millwood - weaver as long as jered weaver keeps pitching like he is, my money will be on him no matter who he's up against. bet on the la angels *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

wimbeldon - womens semi-finals
dinara safina vs venus williams elena dementieva vs serena williams every single media person involved in this wimbeldon is giving a williams sister final as a sure thing. the truth about the williams sisters is that they're not really that good. they're both borderline top 10 players. the only thing that gives them the edge is their physical strength, which at this grand slam, has value, due to the surface that they play on. the poor english, who really see a false reality every year. i've been watching womens tennis with a passion since i was 4. having watched this wimbeldon closely, i can tell you that dementieva should beat serena. the other semi is kind of up in the air.... i like safina's game, but venus is playing at a very high level.. it will be interesting to watch. this is a betting thread, and both these matches pay a fortune going against the sisters. bet on dementieva bet on safina

that dementieva match was one of the 20 best tennis matches i've ever watched.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* texas rangers vs tampa bay rays hunter - kazmir kazmir has struggled through injury this season, but he's back it looks like. he is one of the absolute elite pitchers in the game. at the end of this season, you can take another look at his stats and you'll see what i mean. of course it helps that he plays for probably the best baseball team in the majors. bet on the tampa bay rays *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
