Quads
I've stumbled across a new method, probably not original, but cool nevertheless. I call it Quad, and it makes for good wallpapers. Take most any picture, copy it, flip it, and reverse as needed, then do it again.
The results can be pretty cool when you tile them as your desktop wallpaper, for example: Here is a picture I took in Paris at the Metro station, transformed using the method: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/metro.jpg"> And thus enhanced: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/MetroQuad.jpg"> Here is one taken in a field west of Houston: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/grass.jpg"> and its result: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/GrassQuad.jpg"> The Williams Tower in Houston: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/tower.jpg"> and my interpretation: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/TowerQuad.jpg"> And my fave, the spiral staircase at my hotel in Paris: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/Staircase.jpg"> results in the wallpaper I am currently using: <img src="http://www.myrefrigerator.com/images/StaircaseQuad.jpg"> Copy and paste the Grass one as a tiled wallparer and you will see the face in the swamp. Creepy. Last edited by Nothing But Net; 12-30-2005 at 04:13 AM. Reason: Fixed image URLs |
