It's more *emotional* age perception than chronogical. You clowns come on alike a pandemic-level bad case of high-school senioritis.

I've been here for decades, and even through many a classic flamefest never felt the need to use the ignore list.

Until now.

So, until Tony finally decides you've hit the Cellar "excessively annoying" bannage threshold:

*plonk*

(You can look it up.)

As a rational person, of course I expect to take shit as a "new guy" - in fact my only complaint has been the redundancy of these analysis/commentaries.

As to the "meaningless threads" - I've only started a few threads here, actually. If y'all would quit bumping them they would be gone by now - which I grow weary of explaining.

Also, the chronological age perception I have addressed in depth, and again I grow weary of repeating myself. You will percieve me as "fitting in" or you will have to < expletive deleted >
Does anyone else see a resemblance to our late "Dov"?

@marichiko: There is an AudioGalaxy imitation forum. But I like it here better. It's always funny when people think they are in a "fight" with me, and I thought we were just having a polite conversation among adults. You don't get to know a person in a few days - not in real life and not on the internet either. Oh, and for the thousandth time: who said I am "surprised"?

If you like it here better, why are you trying to turn it into adieu gaackasy? Making fun of a post where I expressed my frustration over being hit with a $300 overdraft from my bank is NOT "polite conversation." Hello?

And, no, you don't get to know a person in a day or two. However, when entering a new social situation, most people at least hold back a little and figure out what's going on. For example, most people don't just walk on to their first day on the job and inform their co-workers that from now on they will all act like the people in your old office did.

This is the first grade stuff, and it speaks volumes that we all are being forced to keep repeating it.

What? What are you talking about? Are you saying I did that? ::: confused :::

Anyway, I am holding myself back, but not so much that you don't have a chance to get to know me. If I don't "fit in" here, why should I pretend? Let the truth be known, I don't like to beat around the bush. I'm just being myself.

Oh, for Christ's sake, even you can't think that I'm that stupid. Your wounded innocent act will simply not fly. I've also explained THAT to you all before.

Why do "we" need to be "schooled" on using a message board?
i have been a little too busy to mess around with this whole AG invasion pissing match, but this quote from Flint sticks out a bit. i think there is a very basic misunderstanding here. Flint (along with some others) has lost a place to go and post in the way that he is used to posting. he (or she - i haven't paid much attention) stumbled into the cellar and saw all the meaningless BS we talk about here and assumed that the cellar might be a good fit for his posting style/desires.

Here is the real rub - we cellarites, in general, don't see the cellar as a message board. It is a community. Many of the people know each other IRL. although folks from all walks of life are welcomed (car guys, computer geeks, trannies, blue collar, white collar, addicts, and egomaniacs abound) we generally have something in common - a desire to hold somewhat intelligent conversations with a group of people that combined have a tremendous amount of knowledge. as is true of all groups of friends - we spend a lot of time talking about stupid pointless crap that makes us smile or laugh. but we laugh at many things because we "know" the person sharing the message.

if i just wanted random snippets of meaningless drivel in bitesize morsels i'd go to the local sportsbar and listen to the banter. i'd prefer not to see thread after thread started for no apparent reason. it makes it harder to find the gems when i am sifting through the BS (like this thread).

just my take on things. Flint - if you want to be a part of the cellar then Welcome. pull up a chair and join in - please just don't shit on the carpets. Tony just got them cleaned.

I think YOUR threads are BS!

(see... if I don't add a note that the above is just a joke, some of you may think I'm instigating here. actually what I'm doing is a little third grade humor: "You're a jerk?" "Oh yeah? Well I think you're a jerk!" "No, you are!" "No, you!" If he can say this thread is BS, than I can say his threads are BS... and of course not even mean it. Which makes the whole thing funny... to me. Although now I've ruined it by explaining.)

just a thought...
If I "stumbled" into a group of people, after a few times of seeming to not fit in, I think I would politely carry my quest elsewhere as opposed to continually trying to redirect the group to my preference.
that's me though....what the hell do I know.

well for starters im putting $50 on mari to win this one. and lookout stepped in with exactly what needed to be said.

maybe they'll get the hint that somethings wrong by by how all their threads turn into a debate about why they are here.

What is Mari going to win? She and a lot of other people are hair triggered because of the rough start the new members have had. OK, but I've seen effort on their part to adjust. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt and simmer down a little.

Mari thinks Flint read her banking thread and is mocking her. Flint says (I think), he just saw the title and thought up this thread.
Well, nobody can prove either, so again, what's she going to win?

Flint made a clone thread. It is a humorous attempt to take someone else's thread title, and change it a little bit, but turn it into something funny. Even if it just makes you look twice. Maybe you laugh maybe you don't.

Clone threads are NEVER meant as a way to make fun of the original thread, or it's content.

So, you may not think it's funny, but you should not be offended if it happens to be a clone of your thread title.

Ah...like Word Association/Dissociation/Picture Association, only using entire threads.

Nope...still doesn't make much sense, although I'm all about funny.
