That's the same as 6,000 dump truck loads!

That's like 10 loads a day for 2 years...

That has to have gone somewhere... There should be some guy standing in his field wondering.. F**^ing gophers!
Maybe it was eaten by whatever made the hole

It swallowed 10 homes??? No way! Where would they have been? It's mostly swallowed road and vacant lot, plus a small corner of a building (about 8m by 2m by my estimate).

Washed away. The story says it is caused by a ruptured sewage/rainwater drain, and that "A rush of water could be heard from its depths". Never underestimate the earth-moving capabilities of running water.

Maybe the Guatemalans have discovered a new weapon of mass destruction.

I think my little joke went right over quite a few heads. "Mass" is also a noun that can be used interchangeably with "matter". A "weapon of mass destruction" could also be a fancy name for a disintegrator ray.

So, 65 million years after the asteroid did in the dinosaurs, it is still wreaking havoc by doing in random animals ... including people.

My 5 year-old nephew is obsessed with this. He wanted me to take him to "Guammammala" to see it. I showed him the globe and said, "we live HERE and the hole is waaaaay down here!" He was unimpressed.

He said, "can we go today?"

Okay, mea culpa. It's my worm. How does one de-worm a planet?
Or is it this sort of wormhole?
