I work as telephone tech support for a national broadband internet provider. It amazes me how dumb people are. Now, I have taken into account that most people aren't "advanced computer users", but over and over, I get people that can only be categorized as plain dumb.

The worst thing a customer can say to me is that they are "computer illiterate". That irritates the shit outta me. Does that mean that if they see words on the monitor they can't read it? I used to kid about this, but after over 2 years doing this, I realize that yes, that is the case in 7 out of 10 customers.

"I get this message every time I (insert action here) that says to go to click on (insert PROMINENT button here). What do I do?" or my all time favorite, going through the windows "internet connection wizard". I don't mind telling them the correct settings, but what gets me is that there is nothing else to do in the window, and there is a big bold "next" button all lit up and ready to click, begging to be clicked, but NO. "Do I click next?" "....uh...yeah." (Next box) "OK, Mr. Customer, go ahead and choose the no option." (long pause, then customer says impatiently) "Do I click next?"

LARGE amounts of people do this. Now, I understand that the majority of the smart people that use our service will never call, because they are smart enough to figure it out, but geez..

The real reason you don't see yourself in a photo of a mirror:

a camera applys light to the film, the light applied to the film is for those brief 10ths of a seccond in wich the shutter is open if the people are not present for those 10ths of a seccond then they will not show up in the Mirror.
