Oh. Monthly test on the first Monday. okay. hopefully the heart rate will come down soon.
My local siren went off at 3pm on a Tuesday one day. The neighborhood was otherwise quiet. I put the dog in the car and drove off, listening to news radio, wondering if the highway would be backed up with other cars headed for zee hills. The highway was clear. I drove to the next siren location that I knew of. That siren was off. Now what? A) 2000 people within range of that siren and not a single fuck was given that day. B) how does this not mean the siren system is not worth paying attention to if it goes off randomly? |

I love this image. Just you, the dawg and the empty road with a siren wailing in the distance ...

I'm told that the current plan is "shelter in place" since you can drive into the plume and fuck yourself more by evacuating.

We're going away for four nights from 25-29 July. The Diz cat is being left here, Mia is going to a cattery.
Our next door neighbour is feeding him, keeping his water topped up and checking his litter tray. Another friend will make random visits for company. And my sister and co will be doing the same thing! Wonders never cease. But then she's doing it partly for Mum and partly because she adores Diz. Her own cat is not very snuggly. Shame - I found her a second-hand Singa in her price range when she was looking for a cat, but I think she thought it "was not for the likes of us"... Poor baby. I'm twitchy even now. When I win £1.66 million on Friday I'm just going to have to take him with me. You can get Pet Passports now after all.
