I was thinking about that post whilst i was watching Pilau go out for his last widdle last night. He looked so unsteady on his feet.
He still has a nice life and he's a happy dog and he enjoys playing still. But the time is coming. I can see it in his wobbly legs. His right leg, the hock is more or less fucked: the joint has collapsed and joint fluid now encases the joint. His left leg meanwhile has muscle wastage. He has a mild heart condition, but I don't think his legs will last long enough for that to be what takes him. None of these are new problems but the last few months he's really deteriorated. Seems to have gone suddenly quite fragile. Poor baby. he's so old now. Twelve and a half is positively ancient for a Bearded Collie.
