I bought a whole stack of baby clothes from the local kid-stuff consignment store, but had enough credit in my account from previous sales to them that I didn't have to pay a dime for them. (And this despite my general policy of only selling things to them that I don't like, and hoarding all my good stuff in carefully organized bins in the closet for future children.)

Some of you may remember I had a very good client who passed away in December that had me kind of low. He was just a lonely old guy without a lot of contact with his family so I would frequently visit him even when there was no legitimate business reason. Today his daughter and grandchildren visited me which was a pleasant surprise. It was made even better when they explained that he had told them about our afternoons playing chess. They presented me with his very nice chess set and table. Very thoughtful.

oh! That's great lookout!!
Sweet. That was a really nice gesture. As for me! A friend is coming into town for my birthday. It's been awhile since I've seen a close friend. I am way too excited! Almost manic! It's terrible! If I had a tail, it would be wagging. She'll be here in 5 hours! The time isn't passing! arrrgh!

I just talked with my boss. He's sending me a new laptop.
I plan to have the current and new laptops connected to the big monitor, plus the keyboard and mouse, using a KVM switch. |

Bully for you, l23, your good deed did not go unpunished.
As for myself, I'm happy to be going camping this weekend.

Friday afternoon.
Daughter's birthday tomorrow. We'll probably go for a hike in the morning and to the pool in the afternoon. School's out, so the kids will be excited. Summer's almost here. The solstice is in 3 hours and 20 minutes. |
