Actually I don't think I'll notice gaining an extra 35 seconds by the end of the year, and a minute by a week into January.

Installed a heater in the garage today

I devised a rotating and sliding mount so I can push it out of my way.

Make sure he gives you enough slack to move it the full range without fighting the wire all the time.
I know, put pulleys on it for wheels and have it run on electrified pipes for rails.

Yes, that's in the plan. I don't know if you can see it, but I used pvc board above the 2x6es with a slot cut out 1" wide x 20". The bolt is a 7" X 3/4". There's another 4" square of pvc on top with a washer recessed. That spreads the weight out and allows the 2 pvc boards to be the contact point, and they slide and spin against each other without too much effort. I had to drill a 3/4" hole in the center of that bracket it hangs from so I could get the bolt through. (step bit) The wood under the handle is hard maple. Drilling that recessed hole with my big dull forstner bit almost burn out my drill press.

It's hanging about 2" too low at the bottom edge, for my 6'2" , so I'll be cracking my head on it at some point. I may get proactive and raise the whole thing up, or maybe just put some padding on the bottom once I know how hot that gets.

You could raise it by drilling four new holes in the bracket, each one a couple inches closer to the ceiling and then put the black knobs in through those new holes.

Least of my problems at this point. I need 220 service to the garage. It has a box that says 240 max, but the wiring is 110. I'm waiting for the estimate. Gonna have to run a line up the house and to a short mast at the ridge of the garage, and put it another box. Or something.
I'll be looking for a cock weather vane to perch atop that mast.

The putz that built the garage could have run 220, but went cheap. I assumed that the box indicated the set up. Glad I called a pro, and didn't try to wire it on my own.

At least, I'll have 220 out there if I get another machine that needs it. Didn't sound like a cheap job, though. Hoping it comes in under 2500.

Got vacation coming up. Key west for valentine's again. I need a bloody Mary from the cork and stogie.
