Foots, you're a bad man, very very bad man.
![]() And those poor dogs at Griffs, look how abused and neglected they look. Why they're practically skin and bones. Probably exhausted from dragging logs from the forest in little doggy's harnesses. ![]()

ha! yes. Beardies change coat colour as they get older. They start off with very deep colours and slowly fade and change across their first year and a half. Usually by the time they get to 18 months old they're so pale they look completely white in some lights. Then the colour returns a little, but much faded and sometimes a different shade of their starter colour.
Pilau was the same. He started out a darker brown than Carrot (who was actually a little more auburn in real life than those photos show), true chocolate. But as an adult he was a cappucino colour.

Interesting! I wish I knew what my mutts looked like as pups. We rescued both of them as adults, but I would've loved to see them before they fit their own paws!

Ah, here are the Carrot pics!! Wow, what a difference from his early puppy pics. I like the idea that the coat color softens and gets more subtle. What a beautiful boy.

Yeah, they look a lot like border collies whne they're really tiny. Especially the blues and slates.

And now to wash down that crunchy fresh Carrot with some Merlot...
I got a sequence of texts with pics from J the other day. They have two dogs: a grizzled old veteran border collie called Lucky, and Carrot's brother and litter mate, Merlot. The texts: Quote:

Bad, bad licky-chops.
I have to say it was one of the characteristics I disliked about dogs. Their wolfish appetite. I knew a lab who ate the preparings of a pie - raw meat, raw pastry and all. The owner had only gone to pick the post up from the mat. Yuck. Then I met Diz. Used tissues, bread rolls, Wotsits. Some animals are just hongry.

Toonces liked to gnaw on used Q-tips. I have no idea why. So I'd put them at the bottom of the wastebasket and he'd go LOOK for them. funny cat.
